Thermal imager keeps plastics moulding in line

Working with German plastics technology group SKZ, sensor manufacturer Micro-Epsilon has developed an inline, non-contact temperature measurement solution for quality control in injection moulding. Micro-Epsilon's Thermolmager TIM thermal imaging camera is installed in the injection moulding machine and uses the thermal radiation from the workpiece to detect not only visual faults, but also hidden defects within the material itself.
