Calls for early phase out of mercury-cell chlorine plants

Mercury emissions into the air from the EU's chlorine plants are under reported by as much as five times and "disturbingly high" levels of the toxic metal have been found in the area of plants from around Europe, according to two reports released on 10 November by environmental campaigners.
