Dimas: EU on track for Kyoto, but more work required

The EU is on track to cut CO_2 emissions by eight per cent in 2010, European Commissioner for Environment Stavros Dimas said on 27 November, shortly after denying claims of "double counting" in the emissions trading scheme (see story this issue).rnMr Dimas warned, however, that the targets will only be reached if member states bring in new measures against CO_2 emissions "and implement them swiftly to ensure success".
