One quarter of companies without environmental permit

One in four Czech factories and agricultural facilities do not have a new, so called integrated environmental permit, as required under EU law.rnAlthough this obligation's deadline of 30 October 2007 was set in a law from 2003, approximately 20 per cent of companies asked for permits too late. Therefore regional authorities were not able to evaluate their requests. About 5 per cent of companies have not yet asked for permits, said Czech environment ministry spokesman Jakub Kaspar.
