ECHA to vote on new Executive Director on 16 October, amid candidate controversy

Two candidates have been shortlisted for the job of running the new European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), but green group Friends of the Earth want an official inquiry into how they were selected, claiming that they could be too pro industry. They also say that a third, strong candidate has been ignored. The two candidates are Geert Dancet, the current Interim Executive Director and Anne Lambert, currently deputy head of the UK permanent representation to the EU. They were interviewed in Helsinki on 25 September by ECHA's Management Board.
