MEPs are warning the European Commission that they may challenge the REACH criteria for persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT) or very persistent and very bioaccumulative (vPvB) chemicals, with comitology, unless it listens to member state experts' opinion on the "real" facts on the substances.rnThe comitology plans -a procedure which allows the Parliament to oversee the Commision's activities, are laid down in both a December coordinators report and in a letter written by Czech centre right MEP Miroslav Ouzky to Commission Vice President Gunter Verheugen and Environment Commissioner Stavros Dimas.rnEnvironment Committee chairman Ouzky letter, sent on 5 December, will be presented to participants of next week's Competent Authorities meeting in the Brussels' Parliament.
