Cefic says chemicals should qualify for eco-label

Chemicals, even when potentially hazardous, should be able to bear the EU eco-label if the risks have been properly assessed and controlled, according to the European Chemical Industry Association (Cefic). "The European chemical industry fully supports the Commission in their aim of ensuring that data and scientific knowledge are used efficiently and that information given to consumers is consistent," Johan Breukelaar Director International Chemicals Policy at Cefic told EE & PL.
