CCS technology buys time, says UK Liberal MEP

Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), if introduced, will permit a wholesale shift from fossil fuels to zero carbon power production, UK Liberal MEP Chris Davies will tell the European Parliament Environment Committee next week, when he presents his draft report on CCS (1). The Directive sets the framework and conditions for use of CCS technology in Europe and introduces requirements for the separation and capture of CO_2 and for its transport by pipeline.
