Green Week: sustainable food debate highlights food waste and carbon labelling

Food waste is the real story this year in the UK, with consumers throwing away about one third of the food they buy. That was one view expressed by the deputy head of the food and farming group at Defra (the Department of the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs) at the Green Week seminar on sustainable food this week.
