MEP calls for cost effective measures on climate change

Bombastic political measures based on symbolism and short-termism overlook cost efficiency and life-cycle thinking. These were the thoughts of Finnish MEP Eija-Ritta Korhola, talking at Monday's EPP (European People's Party) policy debate on climate change. The EPP, traditionally of the political centre-right, is the largest European-level party on the continent. At the second EPP policy debate concerning energy efficiency and saving in the building sector, Ms Korhola suggested that the practical long term solution to this problem, citing consultancy firm McKinsey to enforce her argument, is building insulation.
