The Council should look carefully at the proposal to ban incandescent lighbulbs, as the new style ones use a fair amount of mercury, UK Conservative MEP Caroline Jackson said this week. Speaking in the European Parliament environment committee debate with Slovene minister for the environment and town and country planning, Janez Podobnik, on Wednesday, she said that a discussion was needed about this.
