While France's production of hazardous waste remained stable between 2004 and 2006, it increased by 0.35 million tonnes in 2007, according to a 30 November report by the Statistics Office of the Environment Ministry (SOeS) conducted in response to the EU regulation on waste statistics, adopted in November 2002.rnThose 10 million tonnes represent 2 per cent of the 446 million tonnes of waste produced annually by France, the report said.
