Warning: different climate labels could cause confusion

The various different climate and carbon labelling schemes springing up across the EU, with differing methods of calculating the impact, could lead to widespread consumer confusion, a leading member of the Food SCP (Sustainable Consumption and Production) Round Table has warned.rnPascal Greverath, Nestle Director for Environmental Sustainability and a key food and drinks industry association (CIAA) member of the Round Table, underlined at this week's Climate Smart Food conference in Lund that today there is no single assessment method applied throughout the EU. Instead there are a variety of schemes - some national, some run by retailers and others by the industry itself and all using different methodologies.
