Swedish Government invests in energy efficiency

In a bid to complement the environmental benefits of measures such as the energy and CO_2 taxes or the emissions trading schemes, the Swedish government will invest some €16.2 million (SEK 1.66 billion) to promote more energy efficiency in a number of sectors, it announced on 15 September. These funds, aimed at promoting more efficient energy use in industry, agriculture and forestry, the construction sector, the transport sector, households and the public sector, will be proposed in the Budget Bill for 2010, for the period 2010-2012.
