A recent Europe-wide survey has found that environmental criteria are the key drivers in retail packaging decisions with the vast majority of decision makers recognising that "sustainability" plays an essential role in packaging choices. The survey also showed that the trend points to packaging becoming more environmentally friendly, recyclable and lighter.rnIt appears, however, that some decisions are being put off in the expectation of future EU legislation.
