The UK is at the bottom of the EU league in terms of use of renewable energy, a major conference on the subject was reminded last week.rnCurrently only producing 2.5 per cent of its energy requirements from renewable sources, it will require a seven-fold growth in this sector in the race to meet challenging EU and UK 2020 renewable energy targets.
