UK: Sainsbury's beef packaging case dropped

Trading standards officers in the UK dropped a high profile case against Sainsbury's last week, after the retail giant took steps to address concerns over the way one of its beef products is packaged.rnThe company had been accused by Lincolnshire Country Council of using excessive packaging for its "Taste the Difference" slow-matured beef joint to the detriment of the environment. But in response to recent improvements, the Council said it was "no longer in the public interest" to proceed with the case.
