Greenpeace finds illegal GM rice in Chinese grain reserves

Chinese state grain reserves have been contaminated by unauthorised genetically engineered rice, according to the environmental advocacy group Greenpeace.rnGreenpeace claims on its website that it has found tainted samples at two rice processing enterprises that source their products from the strategic food reserve. China, the world's fifth biggest rice exporter last year, has not authorised transgenic rice for commercial planting and has to date permitted only field trials.
