MEPs debate chemically polluted fish imports

The European Aquaculture industry has been held back by competition from fish farms outside the EU, many of which operate under far less stringent environmental conditions. At the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee last week, MEPs complained that some farmed fish imported from outside the EU were produced in a highly polluted environment, posing a potential health risk to consumers.
