MEPs fail to see eye to eye on climate adaptation funds

Rifts appeared among MEPS in the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee last week during discussions on how to allocate future climate adaptation funds across the EU.rnMEPs were discussing a report by Italian Liberal MEP Vittorio Prodi on a 2009 European Commission White Paper on the actions the EU needs to take to respond to climate change. While the rapporteur said that all regions should be treated equally, others argued that some areas will be more affected than others by climate change and should therefore get a bigger bulk of EU funding.
