Wales does better in recycling but fails on other green aims

While recycling rates in Wales increased by five per cent in 2010-2011, according to Welsh Government (WAG) figures, a new report by the Environment Agency Wales says the government is failing to meet some of its key carbon emissions reduction aims in areas such as economic development, transport and housing. WAG's preliminary report Municipal Waste Management Release, released on 28 June, shows municipal recycling rates hit 43.6 per cent in 2010-2011 - a 4.4 per cent increase on 2009-2010's rate of 39.3 percent.
