MEPs shun 30 per cent carbon cutting target

The European Parliament rejected the chance to put pressure on the Commission to step up its climate ambitions last week, as MEPs bickered over whether the EU's CO_2 reduction target of 20 per cent by 2020 should be boosted unilaterally or not.
