Europe's toy makers have rejected claims from consumer group ANEC about their products containing unacceptable levels of dangerous chemicals (see EE&PL, November 5, 2012, p20). In a statement, Toy Industries of Europe (TIE) said it supports the advice from consumer groups - not only ANEC, the consumer's voice in standardisation, but also the European Consumers' Union, BEUC - on buying toys from reputable suppliers this Christmas, but disputes claims on chemicals in toys.
