Commission to table U-turn on biofuels policy

The EU should limit the production of biofuels from food crops and end all public subsidies to the industry after 2020, the European Commission is set to propose in upcoming EU legislation. Use of biofuels from food crops such as rapeseed, oilseed and wheat shall not make up more than 5 per cent of energy consumed by the bloc's transport sector, stipulates the draft, seen by our sister publication Agra Europe.
