Progress made on packaging definitions at last

With debate continuing on what is and what is not packaging for more than 15 years, finally some headway has been made. A draft text of illustrative examples was submitted by the European Commission to the Council at the beginning of this month, following extensive consultations with member states.The new text brings some 26 new items to the annex of the packaging and packaging waste directive 94/62/EC as amended in 2004.
