EEB calls for more enforcement of packaging rules

The current state of play where no member state properly enforces packaging legislation, notably concerning overpackaging, is completely unacceptable, the European Environment Bureau's Stephane Arditi told a waste prevention seminar earlier this month. He said that low enforcement of the essential requirements of packaging was a particular problem and that a revision of the EU packaging and packaging waste directive should be carried out just on this issue.
