USDA's biotech panel to look at progress on coexistence

The US Department of Agriculture (USDA)'s Advisory Committee on Biotechnology and 21st Century Agriculture (AC21) were to meet this week in Washington, DC as EE&PL went to press, to measure its progress in addressing coexistence between biotech and non-biotech crops. At the AC21's inaugural meeting last August, Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack was set to ask the group to find a way to compensate farmers who suffer economic losses due to commingling of biotech and conventional crops.
