Next Tuesday, all eyes will be on the European Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, as it gears up to vote on Luxembourg Green Claude Turmes' report on energy efficiency. Th? report has attracted a great deal of interest, not to mention amendments - with some 1,810 on the table as EE&PL went to press - now grouped into compromise amendments (see article, p5-7). According to Turmes, energy efficiency is a "make or break" issue. "If the EU fails on energy efficiency it fails on climate change, energy security, green growth and social protection," he announced in the report's explanatory statement.
