Discussion on the sensitive issue of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) was left off the agenda when representatives from the US and EU met for the second time in Brussels this month for talks on the wide-ranging Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP). "We didn't talk about GMOs," EU chief negotiator Ignacio Garcia-Bercero told our sister publication Agra Europe. "Of course it is an issue that we have been discussing for some time, outside of negotiations. But rest assured European legislation is not at stake... we will not compromise our very clear position."
