Farm body calls for voluntary action on 7EAP

Legislation is not the right way to proceed with the recently agreed 7th Environmental Action Programme, according to European farm body Copa-Cogeca, which dismissed the idea that "setting a legislative framework for Sustainable Consumption and Production is the way forward." According to the Association, doing this will not give the right signal to producers and consumers or promote resource efficiency. "We clearly believe that it would be more effective to have actions on a voluntary basis."
