If the EU enforced reuse and waste prevention targets along with increased recycling targets, it would have a better chance of becoming a "zero-waste Europe," environmental campaigners Friends of the Earth Europe (FoEE) said last week. "Any delay in drastically improving the continent's waste management is a missed opportunity," it said. "Reducing waste should be the first step. After that, reuse, repair and recycling activities need to be prioritised, instead of the continuous extraction of material resources," FoEE said in its report published on 14 February.
