EEA Executive Director designate to face MEPs

Belgian political scientist Hans Bruyninckx will be looking to impress MEPs in the European Parliament's Committee on Environment, Public Health and Food Safety next Tuesday afternoon. Bruyninckx is set, if MEPs agree, to replace Jacqueline McGlade as head of the European Environment Agency (EEA) in June. As the new EEA boss, he wants to focus on working towards "a low-carbon society with a complete shift from our current energy and transport modes" (see EE&PL: December 19, 2012, p22-23).
