Swedish minister calls for total BPA ban

The EU is acting too slowly against the hormone-disrupting substance bisphenol A, Sweden's environment minister Lena Ek said this month. "Therefore, we want to develop a proposal involving a total phase-out. We are ready to push the Alliance [of four political parties in Sweden] to go further than France [that will ban BPA in all food packaging from 1 January 2015]."
