US: EPA raises potential concern for TCE, two other solvents

The use of trichloroethylene (TCE) as a degreaser and spray-on coating and dichloromethane (DCM) and n-methylpyrrolidone (NMP) in paint-stripping products, indicates "a potential concern for human health" under certain exposure scenarios and uses, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said last week when releasing draft risk assessments for the first five chemicals under its Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) work plan.
