The European Commission has given the green light to three different mergers, in the packaging, waste recycling and paper and pulp sectors, since the beginning of the month - all under the simplified merger review procedure. US private equity fund CD&R Fund Ⅸ has clearance to acquire Germany's Mauser Holding, a company mainly active in the production and sale of rigid industrial packaging products. The Commission concluded that the proposed transaction would not raise competition concerns, notably because the parties' activities do not overlap.
