Belgium: Fost Plus tariffs this year lower than for 2013

Belgian green dot scheme Fost Plus is again offering its members lower tariffs this year than for the preceding year, it confirmed at this month's annual press conference. The total annual contribution needed from its members has gone down by 1 per cent, due to the higher price of recycled material, managing director William Vermeir said. In practice this means that the green dot fee for aluminium in 2014 has gone down 6.5 per cent, while the fees for steel and 'other non-recoverable packaging' have decreased by just 0.8 per cent (see table).
