ECHA surveys small firms to help with 2018 registration

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has published the results of a survey it conducted amongst small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to help tailor support and IT tools for the 2018 REACH chemicals regulation registration deadline. The last of the trio of registration deadlines, taking in products produced in quantities under 100 tonnes per year, is set to affect many small firms, especially those making niche products. SMEs made up 14 per cent of registrants for the 2010 deadline and 20 per cent for the 2013 deadline, but there are likely to be far more in 2018.
