Three-fourths Of Top U.s. Companies Report Corporate Responsibility Data, Study Finds

The number of top U.S. companies reporting environmental, social, and governance information doubled in 2008 compared with three years ago, according to an analysis released Oct. 27 by accounting and consulting firm KPMG International. Of the top 100 U.S. companies by revenue, 74 percent released public corporate responsibility information in 2008, either as part of their annual financial reports or as separate documents. In 2005, that number was 37 percent.
