The Environmental Protection Agency released a proposed rule May 27 that would require smaller paint manufacturers to install particulate matter control devices to help curb emissions of hazardous air pollutants.rnThe proposed rule would apply to all manufacturers of paints, inks, adhesives, stains, varnishes, shellacs, putties, sealers, caulks, and other coatings that qualify as area sources.
