The San Francisco Board of Supervisors Nov. 16 approved a $3.7 million settlement to end a lawsuit against the owner of the Cosco Busan over a 58,000-gallon bunker fuel spill in San Francisco Bay in 2007 (San Francisco v. Regal Stone Ltd., Cal. Super. Ct., No. GNM98173, 11/16/10).rnSupervisors during their weekly meeting approved a settlement of $3,717,097, which includes $1,676,182 for reimbursement of response to the spill; $665,000 for restoration projects arising out of harm to recreational use of shoreline; $201,000 for restoration projects arising out of harm to recreational boating; $259,000 for restoration to harm from recreational fishing; $500,000 in attorneys' fees; and $415,915 for consultant fees.
