EPA Reports No Elevated Air Toxics At One of 63 Schools Being Monitored

The Environmental Protection Agency said Aug. 24 that its analysis of air quality at a Shreveport, La., school revealed no elevated levels of hexavalent chromium or other air pollutants.rnAnalysis of air samples from Eden Gardens Elementary School was conducted as part of EPA's School Air Toxics Monitoring Initiative, which was launched in March 2009 and includes 63 schools in 22 states. All the schools involved are near large industrial facilities, close to major highways, or in urban areas.
