The House of Representatives approved by voice vote July 30 a bill to authorize greater financial assistance to drinking water utilities and to strengthen the program for screening and testing of potential endocrine disruptors in drinking water.rnThe Assistance, Quality, and Affordability Act of 2010 (H.R. 5320) would allow as much as $1.4 billion to be provided in fiscal year 2011 to assist drinking water systems through state revolving funds. The authorization would increase to $1.6 billion in 2012 and $1.8 billion in 2013.
