EPA Approves 12 Alternative Test Methods For Analysis of Drinking Water Contaminants

The Environmental Protection Agency said in a June 8 final rule it is approving 12 alternative testing methods for measuring contaminants in drinking water and determining compliance with national drinking water regulations (75 Fed. Reg. 32,295).rn"This expedited approach provides public water systems, laboratories, and primacy agencies with more timely access to new measurement techniques and greater flexibility in the selection of analytical methods, thereby reducing monitoring costs while maintaining public health protection," EPA said.
