Company Financial Report Casts Doubt On Geothermal Loan Guarantee Recipient

A Nevada geothermal power company that received a $78.8 million loan guarantee from the Energy Department, as well as more than $65 million in federal grants, has a multimillion-dollar deficit and may not be able to continue operations, according to financial filing released by the company. "Material uncertainties exist which may cast significant doubt upon the Company's ability to continue as a going concern," Nevada Geothermal Power Inc. said in a financial statement released by the company Sept. 27.
