New EPA Guidance for Project Managers Stresses Review of Institutional Controls

New Environmental Protection Agency guidance puts as much emphasis on reviewing the effectiveness of institutional controls as it does on physical controls during the agency's five-year review of super-fund sites. Recommended Evaluation of Institutional Controls: Supplement to the Comprehensive Five Year Review Guidance, which provides recommendations for monitoring and inspecting institutional controls, was sent Sept. 13 to EPA superfund national policy managers in the agency's 10 regions.
