Democrats to Include Clean Energy Jobs In Senate Agenda to Boost Employment

Clean energy jobs will be on the agenda of Senate Democrats as part of a larger job creation agenda they plan to take up when they return from August recess, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said Aug. 2. "Clean energy jobs. They're changing the face of this nation. We need to do that," Reid said during a floor speech in which he announced plans in the Senate shift the focus to jobs following completion of work on debt-reduction legislation. Speaking to reporters during a press conference later in the day, Reid and other Democratic leaders said details of their jobs agenda would be hammered out during the congressional recess.
