Cape Wind Project Set to Proceed After Receiving Final Federal Permits

Boston-The company behind the Cape Wind Energy Project planned for Nantucket Sound said Jan. 19 that it is optimistic it will be able to begin construction on the offshore wind farm by the end of 2011 now that it has received its final two federal permits. Mark Rodgers, Cape Wind Associates communications director, told BNA the company is proceeding with its efforts to secure financing for the 130 wind turbine project which is expected to produce up to 468 megawatts of renewable energy once it is fully operational.
