USDA Awards $73 Million in Loans, Grants To Upgrade Rural Water, Wastewater Systems

Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack Sept. 13 announced $54 million in loans and $19 million in grants to upgrade, repair, and expand wastewater and drinking water treatment plants and associated sewer systems in 16 states. The grants and loans will be disbursed by the USDA Rural Development's Rural Utilities Service and be directed to communities with fewer than 10,000 people.
