Methyl Bromide Shortages Threaten U.S. Farmers, Republican Lawmakers Say

Shortages of the pesticide methyl bromide have the potential to devastate U.S. farmers, a group of Republican lawmakers said in a July 6 letter to the Environmental Protection Agency. House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-Mich), Rep. Frank Lucas (R-Okla.), Rep. Ed Whitfield (R-Ky.), and Rep. Brian Bilbray (R-Calif.) sent the letter to EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson.
