Governor Signs Bill to Add Five Years To Underground Storage Tank Programs

Philadelphia-Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett signed legislation June 27 extending by five years, until June 30, 2017, two state programs aimed at preventing and cleaning up contamination from abandoned or leaking underground storage tanks. The bill (S.B. 1398), which postpones the sunset date for the Underground Storage Tank Environmental Cleanup Program and Underground Storage Tank Pollution Prevention Program, was approved unanimously by the state Senate on May 22 and by the House on June 18.
